About this book

This book provides first-hand detailed information about plants on the B.N. College campus in the Indian state of Assam. Each plant with its flowering and fruiting stage is highlighted mainly for its proper identification. Other important data are given for each species such as botanical name, synonyms, native range, local name, medicinal uses, plant part uses, chemical constituents and the IUCN Red List categories. The botanical name is the official scientific name of a plant which follows the International Code for Nomenclature. The IUCN Red List categories for each plant are assigned to know the exact threat category. This study intends to inspire the institution to take the initiative for the enrichment of biodiversity within the campus.
