About this book

Language: Dutch

In this field guide, illustrated with 200 colour photographs, all species, subspecies and the most important varieties that occur (and have occured) in the Netherlands are documented with a full species description, their flowering time, the biotope in which they occur, their distribution (and distribution maps) and some remarks about there threat are treated. The identification key, the flower diagrams and three colour photographs contribute to an easy determination of the individual species.

A few chapters also briefly describe the characteristics and peculiarities of the orchids (illustrated by various photographs), the ecology, the types of biotopes in which they grow, and the decline and conservation of these dutch species. Also some hybrids are shown.
