About this book

Language: German

If you want to protect butterflies, you have to know where they occur. So far, however, reports of finds from existing monitoring programs have only been available regionally. For the first time, this atlas brings together the distribution data of all 184 butterfly and 24 moth species of Germany into a coherent picture of their overall distribution and thus provides an effective instrument for their protection. An introduction describes the lifestyles of butterflies and their value for ecosystems and conservation and provides insights into monitoring. Detailed portraits and vivid images present the species, including their protection and endangerment status, and show their distribution in mostly full-page maps.

Summary in German:
Wer Schmetterlinge schützen will, muss wissen, wo sie vorkommen.
