This memoir is the third part dealing with the people and institutions which changed the face of modern ornithology in Australia, New Zealand, and the surrounding region. Most of the chapters are written by people who participated in making the history they write about, and they bring to the accounts personal experience, an intimate knowledge of the subject matter, and rich anecdotal material that adds a distinctive character to descriptive and interpretive history.
