About this book

Language: Czech

Thanks to its location in the middle of Europe, the Czech flora is very rich and diverse. During the Ice Age, it was enriched by plants from the cold north, later by thermophilic plants from southern Europe, and it is still affected by the proximity of two large European mountains, the Alps and the Carpathians. Many other plants came here under the influence of man both intentionally and as unwanted introductions. All these plants, a total of more than 3,700 species and subspecies, are described using the latest botanical and systematical knowledge in this new, completely reworked key to the flora of the Czech Republic. The determination will be facilitated by excellent line drawings and a brief text with descriptions of plants, data on their distribution, and the most common habitats and flowering time. The key is intended for all those interested in determining plants, especially botanists, students, teachers and conservationists.

Summary in Czech:
Česká květena je díky své poloze uprostřed Evropy velmi bohatá a různorodá. V době ledové ji obohatily rostliny chladného severu, později teplomilné rostliny z jižní Evropy a stále ji ovlivňuje blízkost dvou velkých evropských pohoří, Alp a Karpat.
