About this book

Language: German

For two years, the author spent the summer months in the nature reserve on Fahrinsel, a small Baltic Sea island off the eastern shore of the island of Hiddensee, Germany. The birds breeding here in countless numbers should be protected against unauthorized disturbances by humans. In addition, the author devoted studies to the Red-Breasted Merganser. The behaviour of this bird species was almost completely researched and correctly recorded by the author. With this book, every holidaymaker on the east coast will find the opportunity to see the merganser, while the inland nature friend will get to know an interesting representative of Germany's bird world.
