About this book

Language: German

Zoo visitors know well the toucan, the interesting, colourful birds from the tropical forests, whose giant beak often reaches almost the length of the body. But little is known about the origin and way of life of these birds. This book is a contribution from the well-known, but unfortunately prematurely deceased ornithologist Hans von Boetticher who introduces everything concerning this group of birds with his typical thoroughness. We get to know the habitat, the looks and the way of life of the different forms. A special section is dedicated to the keeping, care and feeding of toucans in captivity. To every bird lover, especially to every breeder, this book will be a welcome helper in the care of toucans and aracaris and an extension of the knowledge of this exotic group of birds.
