A flora treatment for the Asphodelaceae occurring in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda and Burundi is given. The family is represented by four indigenous genera with twenty-eight species. All genera and species come with a full description, synonyms, distributional data, habitat, vernacular names and uses, as well as additional bibliography, taxonomic notes and citation of representative herbarium specimens. Ten species are illustrated by detailed line drawings.
