About this book

Language: German

This work enables readers to identify all mosses found in Austria, as well as some species from neighbouring countries that may yet be found in Austria. The effort required is greater than for identifying higher plants, as mosses often require a microscope in addition to a magnifying glass. However, the abundance of photographic illustrations greatly facilitates identification. This work is therefore aimed at anyone who wants to learn more about the aesthetically pleasing and fascinating group of mosses and is also intended to serve as a useful bryological reference work for Austria.
