About this book

Language: Chinese with scientific nomenclature

This volume contains a comprehensive morphological and systematic classification of the fungus family Helotiaceae, recording 136 species in 34 genera. The book presents an overview of domestic and foreign taxonomic studies of the family and genera. For each species it provides morphological descriptions, illustrations and, where necessary, discussion, as well as identification to the level of subgenus. These are mainly saprophytic fungi feeding on plant residues, humus layers, soils, feces and other substrates in moist forest areas, and a few cause plant diseases. Very few species coexist with higher plants to form mycorrhiza, and some have the ability to decompose lignocellulose.
