About this book

Language: Chinese with scientific nomenclature

Polyporaceae is an important group of macrofungi that can cause white wood decay; degrade wood lignin, cellulose and hemicellulose; and have important ecological functions. Some species are important medicinal fungi and have a certain economic value. This book describes the taxonomic status, biological characteristics, domestic and foreign research history and current status of Macroporus and related groups in the Polyporaceae family, and briefly introduces their ecological habits. In 1998, Mr. Zhao Jiding's Chinese Mycological History Volume 3: Polyporus recorded 287 species of 69 genera of Polyporaceae in a broad sense. The species that have been recorded there will not be repeated. This volume discusses 107 species of 20 genera and related groups of Chinese Macroporus in the narrow sense. Each species is discussed in detail, including macroscopic morphology, microstructure, habitats, distribution, and research specimens, as well as microstructure diagrams of each species. The book provides a key to the genus and subspecies of Macroporus and related taxa. The end of the book also includes relevant references and indexes of Chinese and scientific names.
