Static Headspace-Gas Chromatography: Theory and Practice has long been the only reference to provide in-depth coverage of this method of analysis. The Second Edition has been thoroughly updated to reflect the most recent developments and practices, and also includes coverage of solid-phase microextraction (SPME) and the purge-and-trap technique.
This is an important resource on an increasingly useful technique. It should be in the library of any chromatographer...Essential. (CHOICE, November 2006)
Theoretical Background of Headspace--Gas Chromatography and Its Applications.; The Technique of Headspace--Gas Chromatography.; Sample Handling in HS--GC.; Headspace Methods for Quantitative Analysis.; Method Development in HS--GC.; Nonequilibrium Static Headspace Analysis.; Qualitative Analysis by HS--GC.; Special Measurements.; Indexes.

Dr. Bruno Kolb is an internationally recognized expert on gas chromatography. He joined Perkin--Elmer in Germany in 1962, where he worked on GC applications and on instrument development with special emphasis on specific detectors. Until his retirement in 1996 he managed the GC--applications laboratory within the marketing group. He has been a guest lecturer for 10 years at the University of Konstanz, as well as at many international meetings, and has published many journal articles, book chapters, and books. Dr. Leslie S.
