This book is the culmination of zoological research on this group of sea sipunculid worms present in the fauna of the Iberian Peninsula and Balearic Islands. It includes 35 species grouped in 10 genus and 5 families, differentiated by means of identification keys. More than 200 photomicrographs of different anatomical structures conform the main axis of this book, and constitute a useful tool for future determination of species belonging to this phylum. Each specific name is accompanied by updated and revised synonymies. Biological, anatomical, and biogeographical data are also included.

Esta obra representa la culminación de una investigación zoológica sobre este grupo de vermes marinos sipuncúlidos presentes en la fauna íbero-balear. En la obra quedan recopiladas un total de 35 especies, agrupadas en 10 géneros y 5 familias, convenientemente diferenciadas con claves de identificación. Más de 200 fotomicrografías sobre diferentes estructuras anatómicas conforman el eje central de esta obra, cincunstancia de gran utilidad en futiras determinaciones de especies del filo.
